A WORLD heritage site is inviting visitors of all abilities to put on their running shoes for the first in a series of “park runs” organised by volunteers.
Runners ranging from beginners to Olympians can come along to the National Trust’s Fountains Abbey, near Ripon, tomorrow (March 1), for the first 5km run around the abbey.
Organised entirely by volunteers, everyone is welcome and non-runners of all ages from the local community can also get involved helping out.
The route will take runners alongside the picturesque river Skell, around the Abbey and through the Water Garden and deer park.
The event is free and will take place at 9am. Runners will need to register on the park run website before the event at parkrun.org.uk/fountainsabbey/.
