PEOPLE in Hambleton are being reminded that they can recycle their empty aerosols alongside their cans and plastic at the kerbside.
“Most aerosols whether from the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom or the garage are made of steel or aluminium and this high grade metal is totally recyclable,” said recycling officer Jenny Lowes.
“Empty aerosols therefore make a valuable contribution to the recycling stream. It’s one of the reasons aerosols are so sustainable.
“They can be recycled with other food and drinks cans in the blue box as long as they are empty but they must not be pierced or squashed and if possible remove any plastic parts that come off easily such as the lids.”
*Households are also reminded that collections of green waste re-started this week.
