RUNNERS – and walkers – will be able to do their bit for charity in Bedale next month.
The Bedale Mile returns to the town on March 23 as part of a nationwide series of events raising money for Sport Relief.
The event was first held in 2012 when 160 runners and walkers took part and this year the organisers, Bedale and Aiskew Runners, are looking to attract even more participants by making it a family fun day.
The event is suitable for all ages and is an achievable distance for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. For those wanting more of a challenge there is also the option of either a three or six-mile route.
The event is being held at Bedale Athletic and Sports Association with the one-mile run starting at 10.15am and the three or six-mile options starting 15 minutes later.
There will also be a bouncy castle and children’s games available as well as refreshments, a cake stall and tombola.
Further details can be found at sportrelief.com/event-info and entries can be made online. The cost is £6 for adults and £3 for children or £15 for a family of two adults and two children.
