MORE 30 gym members tested their cycling skills in a gym challenge inspired by the Tour de France.
Customers at Hambleton District Council’s leisure centres were invited to ride the equivalent of a tenth of the 20th stage of the Tour De France - 54km from Bergerac to Périgueux - as quickly as possible.
The contest was split into male and female, with competitors entering either over or under-35 age groups - with the winners being awarded a yellow jersey for their efforts over 5.4km.
The winners from Bedale’s Centre were Andrew Calvert, Andrew Schofield, Lucy Williams and Sandy Chappell.
Thirsk and Sowerby Centre winners were Tom Horsburgh, Julian Norton, Rosie Gatenby and Anne Norton.
And Northalleton winners were Richard Jemison, Sara Livesley-Gardin and Joan Coulson.
More events will be taking place in and around market towns and leisure centres as Hambleton gears up to welcome the Tour de France on July 5.
