YORK police are investigating a spate of tyre slashing in the city and are appealing for help from the public to trace the suspect.
The tyres on eight vehicles were slashed at various locations between February 14 and 17 and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

RAG PARADE: Students from the University of York will be holding their annual Rag parade through the city centre on Sunday, February 23. The parade begins at 11am in Parliament Street.
BIG WHEEL: Councilors in York will decide next month whether to allow a 50m big wheel to be installed at the National Railway Museum for three years. About 1.2m people used a larger wheel next to the museum’s Great Hall between 2006 and 2008, and another wheel later returned to the city in the grounds of the Royal York Hotel but was dismantled last autumn.
NEW HOMES: Almost 300 new homes will be built in York after two major developments were approved by local councillors. A total of 102 homes will; be built on fields at Strensall and another 195 as part of the city centre Hungate project.
