STILES have been replaced by gates as part of a drive to improve access around one of Northallerton’s favourite walks. The work has been carried out by Northallerton volunteers through the public rights of way team. The path around Romanby golf course, which is popular with Northallerton and Romanby residents and is used by the Hambleton Strollers walking for health group, has been upgraded.
Walks from Thirsk to Northallerton are also being promoted after improvements with new gates north of Thornton Le Beans. The latest information about walks around North Yorkshire can be found on the County Council’s website www.northyorks.gov.uk
