FITNESS equipment specially designed for adults has been installed at Bedale Park thanks to a £10,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
Bedale Town Council applied for the grant as part of a move to help keep adults fit. The four pieces, including a static bike, group exercise station and specialist equipment for disabled people, have been put in next to the existing children’s play area.
It is designed to be used by people aged over 14.
Mayor Amanda Coates said: "We’re hoping that adults will use these when perhaps they bring children to the play area or when they’re visiting the park.
“This isn’t the ideal time of year to try it out, but it really is impressive and as the weather improves we would encourage everyone to come and have a go.
"So many people use the park it’s a real focal point for the town and this is a chance to get fit while you’re here.
“It is for adults and people over 14. Because it is in the park people can come and use it whenever they like and whenever they get the chance. This is a real boost from the Big Lottery Fund, we are extremely grateful."
