Secondary school pupils in York are being encouraged to read, write and perform poetry with a new project. On the Mic has been organised by York Literature Festival director and local poet Miles Salter. Funding has been secured to provide creative workshops in all of the York’s state secondary schools. Poet and comedian Kate Fox will lead the workshops with 60 pupils participating from each school. The first workshop will take place on Monday, February 24 at Joseph Rowntree School.
