CHILDREN at a nursery have begun preparing for life at school by celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Carlton Miniott Community Primary School’s reception class joined youngsters at the Learning Tree Nursery in trying a range of oriental foods and eating with chop sticks.
Lisa Lovell, the nursery’s deputy manager said the children participated in a range of Chinese-themed activities, including making a Chinese dragon, lucky charms and lanterns, as part of a scheme to help with their transition to school.
She added: “The children had great fun and enjoyed tasting the curry, sweet and sour , spring rolls and noddles.”
