THIRSK Carers is appealing for volunteers in the Northallerton area to sit with children to give parents a break. A charity spokeswoman said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to increase your skills, add to your CV. No qualifications are necessary and training will be provided.” Expenses are re-imbursed for travel. MP VISIT: Anne McIntosh MP will visit Thirsk Library on Saturday, (February 8) at 10.30am to celebrate National Libraries Day. Miss McIntosh said she wanted to help celebrate the work of the library and its staff in promoting learning, literacy and the enjoyment of reading to all.
