Stokesley author Jan Hunter will be signing copies of her novel My Two Lives at the White Swan in the town on Thursday, June 27, between 6pm and 9pm. The thriller tells the tale of a comprehensive teacher who slips back in time to a past life as a Victorian governess at Castle Howard. It is the debut novel of Mrs Hunter, a former drama teacher. The book will be available to purchase for £7.99. The event will be followed by live music at the pub at 9pm.

BRASS CONCERT: Bedale Brass Band will be holding its spring concert on Saturday, June 8 at 7.30pm at St Gregory’s Church in the town. Admission is £5 on the door and free for young people under the age of 16. There will be a raffle and complementary refreshments. The band will be performing a varied programme of music to suit all tastes.
