A £500,000 revamp of King’s Square in York – popular with street entertainers - has been delayed after concerns about the impact on local businesses.
The 12-week project to widen and repave the square was due to start on Monday but will now begin in the first week of September.

QUEEN'S SERVICE: The 60th anniversary of the coronation of the Queen will be celebrated at York Minster on Sunday, June 2, with a choral evensong at 4pm. As well as performances by cathedral chamber choir Cantus, the service will include a prayer written by Westminster Abbey with the Queen’s approval, which will be used in the Service of Thanksgiving at the Abbey on June 4.
