SUMMER revellers are being invited to join Alice and take a step into Wonderland.
Beningbrough Hall and Gardens – a National Trust property north of York – is joining forces with a local theatre company for an evening to remember.
In partnership with We Are Theatre the gardens will be transformed into Wonderland on June 8 with a series of interactive experiences for all the family between 6.30pm and 9pm.
Visitors will be able to make masks, go on a quest and even play croquet with the Queen of Hearts.
There will also be timed promenade performances specially written for the evening where Alice will take people on a journey to meet some of her friends and best loved characters from the book and films.
Spokesman Joanne Parker, events and marketing co-ordinator, said: “There are surprises in store around every corner and the cast will help to bring Wonderland to life in such a unique way.
“Each aspect is designed to be enjoyed in a leisurely manner to allow for a very special family evening - hopefully in the sun.”
Visitors should take chairs or a rug and pre-booking is recommended via the events page nationaltrust.org.uk/beningbrough-hall/things-to-see-and-do/events/ or any tickets available can be purchased on the night.
The evening experience in Wonderland with Alice and friends will be repeated at Beningbrough on August 31.
