RICHMOND Methodist Guild held its annual anniversary weekend on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 to 19 in the Methodist Church. On the Saturday evening, an audience enjoyed a concert in the church by the Apollo Male Voice Choir from Middlesbrough. The guest speaker for both services was the Rev Keith Page from Harrogate. On the Sunday, 38 members and friends enjoyed a three-course lunch at the Burgoyne Hotel at Reeth. On Thursday, June 6 the guild will meet in the Dundas St Upper Assembly Room at 7.30pm, when the Hwange Conservation Society will present a programme on African wildlife. The guild ends its early summer evening activities with a strawberry evening at 7.30pm at Red House Farm, Easby, on Thursday, June 20.

VINTAGE FASHION: The Chic Vintique Fair on Tuesday, June 4 at Richmond Town Hall from 9.30am to 3.30pm will include a fashion show with vintage fashions and models from Oxfam Richmond and On the Cusp vintage fashions. Accessories will be from Vixcraft and Jewellery Nights. There will also be 16 stands of gifts, jewellery, homeware and furniture of all ages and varieties. Adult admission 50p. CORONATION ANNIVERSARY: To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth ll, Richmond Town Council is holding two events on Sunday, June 2. At 2pm in the Rose Garden opposite Swale House, Mayor Bob White will lead the planting of two ornamental trees to commemorate the day. From 2.30pm there will be a 1950s Tea Dance in Richmond Town Hall. Everyone is welcome, and there will be dancing, tea, light refreshments and raffle. Entrance is £2.50 on the door. All proceeds will go to the Mayor's charities.
