VANDALS have caused heartache for keen cricketers in North Yorkshire.
They drove onto the cricket pitch at Kirkbymoorside sports field before damaging the covers covering the cricket square, causing around £5,500 worth of damage.
The incident took place between 5pm on May 17 and 8am the following day.
PC Louise Beck said: “If you know who is responsible for causing this damage to the village’s cricket ground, I ask that you contact the police straight away.”
