A TWINNING association has welcomed guests from its twin town.
Richmond French Twinning Association recently hosted 23 members from Saint Aubin du Cormier in Brittany.
Activities included a day visit to Beamish and Durham cathedral and a half day visit to Fountains Abbey.
Chairman Graham Berry said: “An excellent and enjoyable time was had by all, despite the uncertain weather.
“The highlight of the visit was a reception in Richmond Town Hall, attended by 80 people. Live music was provided by Fourum and by Breton musicians, greatly adding to the warm ambience of the occasion.
“Plans have been made for a visit by a student orchestra from Saint Aubin in October and we discussed visits to France by Richmond musicians.”
