A CARE group has received a grant so it can offer an activity inspired by traditional folk dancing, to improve people’s health and wellbeing.
Stokesley’s Community Care Association is to run circle dancing sessions, after receiving a £400 grant from Broadacres Community Development Fund.
The grant will cover the cost of professional training for six volunteers who will be running the sessions.
The dances are all done in a circle and the steps demonstrated by a trained leader. The sessions are suitable for people with limited mobility.
The first circle dance session takes place on May 23 from 1.30pm until 3pm and then will run fortnightly at the Methodist Church Hall in Stokesley.
Transport can be arranged through the community care association if required.
Sessions last 50 minutes to an hour and are followed by refreshments included in the small fee for the class.
