A HERITAGE trail is to be set up in Stokesley to encourage visitors to explore some of its history.
Six information panels are to be located at key sites around the North Yorkshire town in a bid to highlight some of the town’s historic buildings and points of interest.
A number of organisations in the town are working jointly on the project, including Stokesley Society, which had already published some leaflets on points of interest in the town.
The Stokesley River Leven Group and the town's Manorial Lands Trust are also involved in the project.
The route will run from the entrance of the Co-op supermarket to West Green, along the High Street and Levenside, taking in many of the town’s Georgian and Victorian buildings and its new Jubilee Bridge, recently installed over the River Leven.
Stokesley Parish Council is backing the project.
