Parking call: People in Kirkbymoorside are urging tougher action against drivers who park vehicles on double yellow lines or at bus stops and those who cause obstructions. At the annual town meeting they also called for more police patrols to stop anti-social behaviour being carried out by a small minority of youngsters.
Flood works: The North York Moors National Park is being urged to approve a scheme to prevent flooding from a beck in Pickering. The Environment Agency project involves a series of measures three miles upstream of the town, intended to prevent flash floods by restricting the flow of water from the moors into the beck.
