THE new mayor of Northallerton has pledged to work for the good of the town and its people.
Coun John Forrest made his promise as he took over the role from Coun Jack Dobson at the annual meeting of the town council.
His plans include the setting up of a working group to look at the use of social media and wi-fi in the town, looking at the role of Bullamoor Park and furthering the town’s links with it French twin, Ormesson-sur-Marne.
Coun Ken Archer has become the town’s new deputy mayor.
