A museum is holding a Second World War weekend on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2. The Countryside at War event will take place at Ryedale Folk Museum, at Hutton-le-Hole, near Helmsley, North Yorkshire. There will be a soup kitchen, 1940s hairdressing, demonstrations and actors re-enacting roles from the era. There will also be the chance to meet some residents who worked as land army women during the war.
