More than £1,600 has been raised from a fundraising curry night hosted by the chairman of Ryedale District Council. Councillor Eric Hope organized the event at the Jinnah Restaurant, between York and Flaxton to raise money for his chosen mayoral charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and Ryedale Stroke Group. There was Kashmiri buffet, a raffle, a table quiz and a charity auction and belly dancing entertainment.
OPEN GARDENS: Mickley village near Ripon will be holding a village garden open day on Sunday, June 23 from 11am until 5pm. Entrance is £5 and refreshments will be served. The event is to raise money for the church and for the Jenny Ruth workshops for people with disabilities.
WHIST DRIVE: Northallerton Town Cricket Club will be holding a whist drive on Wednesday, May 15 from 7.30pm.
