VANDAL ATTACK: Northallerton police are appealing for witnesses following an act of vandalism in the town. It happened overnight between Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7, at a property on The Green, Romanby, when spray paint was used to damage a Land Rover and the garage door. NEW CHAIRMAN: The MS Society Hambleton and Richmondshire Branch has elected a new chairman at its annual meeting. Melva Steckles, former Richmondshire District Councillor, thanked all present for their confidence in her. After being diagnosed with MS herself four years ago she said she looks forward to working with the committee, and in the community to further the support for those with MS and their carers.
SPIRITUALIST NIGHT: The Greater World Christian Spiritual Association is hosting a divine service and demonstration of communication spiritual healing will take place at Brompton Village Hall on Friday, June 14 at 7pm, and Friday, July 12 at 7pm. Suggested donation is £2.
SING THERAPY: The Alzheimer’s Society at Garget Walker House, Olav Road, Richmond, will host Singing for the Brain sessions on the third Thursday of the month from 2pm to 3.30pm. There is no charge for the sessions, which are designed for people with dementia to come with a family member, carer or friend. GOLF EVENT: Richmondshire Cricket Club is launching a golf event to be played at Richmond Golf Club and is inviting people to enter teams of four. Invitations are limited to 22 teams and the game will kick off with a shotgun start at 1.30pm on Friday, May 31. There will be prizes throughout the day and all teams will be seated for a meal at 6.15pm with a presentation at 7pm. There will be a tombola, raffle and auction, and team entry costs £120.
