VILLAGERS walked across hot coals to celebrate the first birthday of a boy born with a rare condition.
Sixteen people took part in the firewalking evening at the Wheatsheaf, in Carperby, near Leyburn, last month.
The event was held to mark the first birthday of Henry Skelton, who was born with a rare heart condition called common arterial trunk.
After a life saving operation in his first week of life, Henry is now a happy little boy.
The aim of the night was also to raise money and awareness for children's cancer charity Little Heroes.
Villagers and Henry's family raised £2,000 for the charity by each walking over the hot coals five times.
