AN electrifying fusion of fashion and technology is about the light up the catwalk.
Students from Northallerton College are to stage a charity fashion show with their collection of LED-studded costumes in aid of Herriot Hospice Homecare.
The charity, based in Northallerton, helps enhance the quality of life for patients with life-limiting illnesses who want to be cared for at home.
Head of textiles Linda Breckon said: “Each year the college chooses a local charity to support with our annual fashion show.
“This year we are hoping to raise hundreds of pounds to help with the valuable work that Herriot Hospice Homecare carries out.
“It is also a great opportunity to showcase the very high standard of design talent that we have here at Northallerton College.”
More than 60 bespoke garments from year ten, GCSE, A and AS level textile technology students will be modelled in the main college hall on May 15 as well as textile wall art and educational soft toys.
Collections will also include an LED-studded mermaid costume, a firework themed gown and hat, 1920s gowns and Victorian-style garb, as well as garments modelled from the recently opened Herriot Hospice Homecare shop, on Northallerton High Street.
Tickets for the fashion show, which will begin at 7pm, are available from Northallerton College reception at £3 each or by contacting Linda Breckon on 01609-773340.
