Hackfall regeneration talk. - Stokesley Society will be hosting a talk by David Rodway on the regeneration of Hackfall near Grewelthorpe, Ripon. The landscaped garden contains follies, temples and water features and dates back to 1750. The wooded area is now being regenerated and the talk will look at some of the renovation to take place over the last three years. The evening takes place on Monday, March 25 in the upper room of Stokesley Town Hall from 7.30pm.

Fundraising sale. - There will be a jumble sale at Seamer Village Hall near Stokesley on Saturday, April 20, from 2pm. Admission is free. Most items will be 50p or less. All proceeds will go to village hall funds.

Hambleton strollers. - On Monday, March 25, Hambleton Strollers will be staging a 30 to 60 minute health walk from Great Ayton Library. Meet at 10.15am for a 10.30am start. NORTHALLERTON Northallerton United Reformed Church. – Palm Sunday worship at the church will commence at 10am and at 2.30pm church members will lead worship at Southwoods Care Home. Midweek worship will take place on Wednesday at 1pm and there will be a Maundy Thursday service at 6pm on Thursday, March 28. The church service on Good Friday will commence at 11am.

Garden initiative meeting. - A meeting has been held over a joint venture between environmental groups and voluntary bodies in Northallerton and Northallerton Prison, to discuss converting an area of prison land in the town centre into a public garden. At the meeting, held at HMP Northallerton, were members of the Northallerton Enviromental Enhancement Initiative (NEEI), the prison service, Northallerton and District Round Table, Northallerton Rotary Club and Northallerton Lionesses Club. NEEI said all parties who attended were impressed by the work done so far and plans for future development.
