YOUNG musicians have been raising the roof with a festive performance to remember.
Students from Northallerton College joined forces with pupils from the Allertonshire School for an annual joint Christmas concert.
For many of the youngsters the concert provided a debut for their new-found skills as they played before a packed house of family and friends at the college.
The college’s head of music Adrian Bramley said: “All the students and teachers have been rehearsing for months and I think this performance shows clearly that they are doing something right.
“The concert is a great opportunity for Northallerton College and the Allertonshire School to work together on an event which the audience really enjoys.”
Next term sees two college ensembles combining forces with other musical groups in the area.
Northallerton College Jazz Orchestra is giving a concert with Northallerton Woodwind Ensemble, with Mr Bramley on classical guitar, on March 15, starting at 7pm, in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and Mencap.
And on May 18, in Northallerton Forum, Northallerton College Concert Band is giving a show with Darlington Community Concert Band, starting at 7pm, in aid of Help for Heroes and Macmillan.
