COOKING CHALLENGE: Celebrity chef James Martin has chosen 50 hopefuls to take part in the final of his search to find a top teen chef in the Red Tractor beef and lamb Make it with Mince Challenge 2012.
Finalists include Nathan Bates from Lady Lumley’s School, Pickering, with his mince pie with roasted potatoes, parsnips and carrots.
He will go on to compete in a regional cook-off against fellow regional finalists in Harrogate on November 12.
Mr Martin will judge the recipes live and each regional winner will have the chance to be crowned National Champion, winning a day with him in London to visit top restaurants and watch Saturday Kitchen live.
