THERE will be a family fireworks, bonfire and barbecue on Reeth green today (November 5).

The judging of the guys will begin on High Row at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.30 and the fireworks display starts at 7pm.

In the case of bad weather the fireworks may be postponed until Tuesday but the bonfire will still go ahead on Monday.

There is no admission charge but a collection will be taken.

FOLK SINGER: Jacqueline McDonald, originally of the Jacqui and Bridie duo, will be appearing at Richmond Swaledale Folk Club, in New Road, Richmond, tomorrow (3) at 8pm.

CHARITY QUIZ: A quiz to raise money for the mayor of Richmond’s charities will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at the Black Lion pub from 8.30pm.

Mayor Stuart Parsons’ chosen charities are the Sylvia Crathorne Memorial Trust, helping the continuity and modernisation of the Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond Leisure Trust, Richmond Building Preservation Trust, and Richmond Town Football Club.

A table top sale will also be held in Richmond Town Hall on Saturday, December 1 from 2.30pm until 5pm in aid of the charities.
