CANCER SUPPORT: Thomas the Baker customers will help hundreds of people with cancer get nursing care in their homes after the family bakery presented a cheque for £10,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support last week – the largest amount the bakery has ever raised for charity.
Thomas the Baker handed over the cash to Macmillan on Thursday, October 25, which had been raised through sponsored walks and supplier contributions.
But more than half the total – £6,500 – had been donated by customers through collection boxes at its 34 Yorkshire-based shops.
Last year the bakers raised £7,000 for charity.
