RAIDERS escaped with a haul worth about £5,500 after breaking into a securely locked house.

They broke into the house in Snape, near Bedale, North Yorkshire, on the morning of October 16 – but details have only just been released by police.

Now officers are appealing for help in tracking down the thieves and want to speak to anyone who may have been offered any of the stolen items.

The haul included a pair of 18ct gold diamond stud earrings, a 18ct gold ring with oval aquamarine stone surrounded by diamonds, and a collection of sixty 50p coins representing all the events of the 2012 London Olympic games.

They also took a pair of Ted Baker blue cufflinks, three pairs of cufflinks with horse motifs, a pair of gold earrings consisting of a pearl with small diamonds mounted over the pearl, an aquamarine pendant on a gold chain, a heavy double link gold chain bracelet with gold padlock, a pearl necklace with silver cross and a white gold ring with three diamonds in a mount.
