A CRAFT fair to raise funds for charity will also showcase local the work of local craftspeople in Richmondshire and the Dales.

The Station, Richmond, will host 27 local craft makers for one day on Sunday, November 4 from 10am until 4pm.

Stalls will feature quality but affordable arts and crafts including handmade jewellery, ceramics, decorative woodwork, felt bags, and contemporary knitted garments.

There will also be small original artworks and photography.

Station manager Laura Hannaway said: “The aim of the day is to offer a showcase for the region’s many talented craft workers at a time of year when people are on the lookout for novel, but affordable, gift ideas.

“We are all thinking towards Christmas shopping at this time of year and the Arts and Crafts Fair will have some perfect gift ideas.

“Proceeds from the event will go towards the Station’s charitable trust responsible for funding the upkeep of the Station building and the numerous community activities taking place within it.”

Community group based at the Station, the Station Knitters, will also be at the fair, demonstrating their knitting skills and offering advice to beginners.

The group meets twice a month on a drop-in basis at the Station and members have recently made 150 knitted hats for soldiers in Afghanistan.
