SPORT ACCIDENT: A 25-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after breaking his leg during a football match in North Yorkshire.
The man, from Sleights, was picked up on a muddy pitch in Fylingthorpe at 12.35pm today (28) after Yorkshire Ambulance crews were unable to get the ambulance close enough to him.
He was treated by the air ambulance doctor before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, which took 10 minutes.
His condition is stable, but the break to his leg was described as “particularly nasty.”
