A day centre for elderly and vulnerable people has come up with a novel idea for Christmas - a gift voucher.
Dales-Care in Bedale is introducing the £5 vouchers which can be used to pay for hot lunches at the centre.
A spokesperson said: "That will cover the cost of a delicious, home-cooked meal, main course, dessert, tea or coffee.
“We’ve recently been refurbished and the centre provides pleasant surroundings in which all independent older people can meet, chat, dine and participate in many activities.
"We’re open each weekday between 9am and 3pm and lunch is served at noon."
