Bedale Archaeology and History Society will meet in Bedale Hall at 7.30pm on November 6 for an illustrated talk by Dr David Mason, principal archaeologist for Durham County Council, on Aethelfrith of Northumbria and the Battle of Chester.
Non-members are welcome for £2 on the door but anyone wishing to join the society for 2013 will pay only the £12 subscription, with entry to this and the December meeting being free. The event is free to members, schoolchildren and full-time students.
