A REMEMBRANCE festival organised by the Richmond branch of the Royal British Legion is a sell out event.
The show, at Richmond School on Sunday (28), is a way of saying thank you to the people of Richmond who have supported the Legion’s poppy appeal over the years – and who helped raise almost £18,000.
The show will be led by the Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai band, and will include music from the Catterick WAGS choir, Richmond School choir, Hunton and Arranthorne Community Primary School choir and a display by the Army School of Ceremonial Drum Wing.
Chairman of Richmond branch, Bob White, said: “It is brilliant we have sold out so fast, but I apologise to those who have not been able to get tickets.
“Our thanks to Richmond School, but unfortunately the school hall will only hold so many.
“This is our fifth festival and looks as though it will be our best yet. “
Mr White added: “With many of the garrison’s soldiers deploying to Afghanistan this month it is a good time to highlight the fact that the Royal British Legion serves not only ex-forces veterans but also those who still serve, whether or not they have been wounded.”
