CUT ABOVE: Stylist Rachelle Summerson-Wright, from the Janet Maitland Hair Excellence salon in Durham, has been named one of the six finalists in the North Eastern Hairdresser of the Year Awards. The winner will be announced on November 26 in a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London.
FANCY DRESS: Waldridge Parish Council is to hold its annual Halloween Night celebrations on Wednesday, October 31 from 5.30pm to 7pm on the Millennium Green, off Barford Drive, Chester le Street. There will be fancy dress competitions for all ages, with judging at 6pm. Refreshments will be available.
REMEMBRANCE DAY: Kelloe Parish Council has announced details of the village’s annual Remembrance Day ceremony. It will take place at the village war memorial on Sunday, November 11. Anyone wishing to take part is asked to meet at St Paul’s Methodist Church at 10.45am.
