A MAN is to be sentenced next month for three sets of sexual offences relating to under age girls.

In at least two of the cases Jamie Lee Ramage is said to have arranged to meet girls for sexual activity having previously made contact on the internet via Facebook.

Twenty-year-old Ramage today (October 18) appeared at Durham Crown Court and admitted charges of sexual activity with a child and twice meeting a girl following sexual grooming, on dates in September and October, last year.

He previously denied the offences and a trial was to have taken place next week.

His bail conditions, when the case originally came before magistrates last December, included a ban from using Facebook.

His barrister, Julie Clemitson, told today's hearing that he has other similar convictions which are to come to the court for sentence.

Ramage was found guilty of intentional sexual touching of a teenage girl after a trial at Newcastle Crown Court in August.

North Durham magistrates last month committed further cases, of arranging and facilitating child sex offences and grooming, to the crown court for sentence.

It was today agreed that all three sets of offences will be sentenced together by Judge Penny Moreland, who presided over the trial in August, at Durham Crown Court next month.

Adjourning for background reports to be prepared by the Probation Service, Recorder Deborah Sherwin remanded Ramage, of Whinside, Stanley, in custody, pending sentence on November 8.
