A CHESTER-le-Street fitness coach is in the running for a national award.

Andrew Lee, 31, of Aberwick Drive, 31, who trains at Peak Body Gym and Fitness in Ropery Lane, is one of ten finalists for Exorex Personal Trainer of the Year.

Paula Myers, 40, of Hetton-le-Hole, who nominated him, said: “Andrew has given me my confidence back.

“I went from being unhappy about the way I look to being able to go into any shop and buy clothes I never thought I could wear.

“He’s shown me how to take control of my fitness and how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

“It’s been great seeing my children look up to me--I have several fitness medals since training with Andrew and my kids think it’s great!”

Mr Lee said: “It feels fantastic to be a finalist. I am delighted to even be nominated, as this is something many trainers aspire to.

“Paula is fantastic. She came to me when her fitness levels were down and we have now ran two marathons together and plan to run the New York Marathon next year.”

The winner will be chosen in November by a panel of judges including European boxing champion Cathy Brown. The winner will receive £1,000 for personal training equipment.
