PEOPLE have been invited to the second Make the Most of Your Coast festival in east Durham.
The event will be staged by the National Trust at Cotford field near Lime Kiln Gill in Horden, near Peterlee , from 10am to 3pm on Saturday September 29.
The festival was originally planned in August but had to be delayed as the heavy rains earlier in the year rendered the ground too wet. Now, thanks to the milder weather, the event is back on course.
Make the Most of your Coast offers people of all ages a free day out with activities set on the cliff tops of the Durham Coast.
It aims to celebrate the spectacular coastline and heritage as well as exploring coastal issues, conservation and safety.
Kate Horne of the National Trust said: “Our Make the Most of Your Coast festival aims to celebrate life on the coast – both people living there and wildlife.
“It’s free to enter and we have a lot of free activities taking place such as bug hunting, wildlife walks and family games. There will also be mini quad biking and a bouncy castle for a small charge.”
