POLICE are appealing for information after thieves broke into a kennels and stables and stole a diesel generator.
Intruders snapped the chain on a gate to get onto the site at Hamsterley Vale, near Consett at some time between Friday, October 21 and Monday, October 24.
They then sawed through the locks securing the compound on the land. Once inside, they stole a generator, two rolls of cable and a number of household ornaments stored in the compound.
Police say that several people and heavy machinery will have been needed to make off with the generator, which was 6ft high and 8ft long.
The generator was an SDMO T9KM model, with a Mitsubishi engine and contained approximately 250 litres of diesel when it was stolen.
