A 69-YEAR-OLD man was injured when two vehicles collided on a North-East motorway today.
A police spokesman said, a Skoda Superb was travelling in northerly direction on the A1(M) when it was in collision with the back of a VW Krafter, near the Carrville Interchange, Durham City, at about 11am.
The injured Skoda driver was cut free from his vehicle by members of the Darlington and County Durham Fire and Rescue team.
Members of the North-East Ambulance Service then transported him to the University Hospital of North Durham.
The driver from Walsall, in the West Midlands, was complaining of chest pains. His condition was not known.
The northbound carriage, was reduced to one-lane between the Carrville and the Chester-le-Street interchanges, while emergency services cleared the scene. The road was reopened at 12.20am.
