A COMMUNITY forum will hold its annual agenda-setting meeting next week.
Durham Area Action Partnership (AAP) will hold its forum event at Durham Town Hall on Tuesday, November 8, at 6pm.
Forum members will set the AAP’s priorites for 2012-13 and hear more about moves towards establishing a Durham town council.
Paulina Lubacz, the AAP chair, said: "I hope as many members will come along to discuss and vote upon issues that they want to see their AAP devote time and resources to tackling during the next financial year.
"In times when the public purse is being squeezed this is a wonderful opportunity for local people to determine how their money should be spent."
The AAP’s current priorities include: supporting the voluntary and community sector, providing activities for young people, looking at housing and city centre issues and exploring climate change and environmental issues.
More than 40 groups have shared £21,000 through its Small Grants Fund, leading to a new cycle path being created, a riverside ranger appointed and a Stepping Up contest for business start-ups launched.
