A TOTAL of £1,500 was raised during a Hospice Harvest event held last weekend.
Around 150 people attended Saturday’s event in the five-acre grounds of St Cuthbert’s Hospice, in Durham City.
Visitors were able to buy fresh produce and plants, enjoyed a tour of the grounds and the hospice’s new greenhouse and took part in a guess the weight of the pumpkin competition.
Hospice spokeswoman Jade McArdle said: "We were blessed with beautiful weather and it was lovely to see so many people come to support the hospice.
"To raise £1,500 in our first year is brilliant so thanks to everyone who was a part of it.
"Our volunteer gardeners have worked really hard to make the gardens beautiful and accessible for our guests and we’re really pleased to be able to show our supporters the benefits these developments will have to the people we care for."
The next event held at the hospice will be the Christmas Fair to be held on Saturday, November 19.
