A LOCAL history exhibition has gone on show in a north Durham school.
Pupils of Consett Junior School unveiled their work to television presenter and author John Grundy yesterday. (Monday) It features old pictures, artwork, sculptures and steelworks paraphernalia and is open to the public every day this week from 1.30pm-3.15pm.
Year six teacher David Jackson said: "There is a lot of local history from Consett and the surrounding areas, such as magazines from the Consett Iron Company, the Crookhall colliery banner and an exhibition dedicated to the Medomsley charabanc disaster, which was 100 years this year.
"Everything about Consett that is worth seeing is here and we want people in the community to come and see their heritage."
