AN AMERICAN businesswoman has appealed for help to find her well-travelled cat - which has miaow with a drawl from the Southern States.
Michelle Faber of Brancepeth, near Durham City, said the powder puff Persian cat called Jazz disappeared days after she moved to her new home on Monday.
Ms Faber said: "She is like a teddy bear. She is over loved and will lie down for anybody.
"Unfortunately it is probably what has happened. I thinks someone may have picked her up."
Ms Faber added: "She is from America and comes from Georgia in Atlanta, and she has a southern drawl in her miaow.
"What happened is I graduated from Durham University and have just moved to Brancepeth.
"Jazz not used to the place and I think she freaked out because I go to work or stayed out."
Ms Faber said she was concerned as the 15-year-old moggy needed her medication.
She said: "Jazz is well-travelled kitty and has lived in Colorado, Florida and New York. She has always been my companion and has always adjusted well to travels.
"She had to go through a rigmarole, including a six-month quarantine, to come to the UK.
"She has microchip, but I discovered they can’t take data off American chips here."
