ONE of the region’s best-loved landmarks is to host a coffee morning to raise money for charity.
Macmillan Cancer Support is to hold an event in Durham Cathedral on Monday, July 4 as part of its World's Biggest Coffee Morning event.
Volunteers will be serving coffee and biscuits from 10am to noon, with staff on hand to chat to anyone interested in finding out more about the services offered by the charity.
Last year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raised £65,000 in County Durham, but organisers hope to top the figure this time around.
Michelle Muir, the charity’s fundraising manager for County Durham, said: "We are hoping this pre-event in Durham Cathedral is going to encourage more people to register and hold their own coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
