A MOTHER with an intense fear of heights is hoping to overcome her nerves to skydive for charity.
Emma Raine, 30, is due to skydive from 10,000 feet above Peterlee parachute centre, in east Durham, on Saturday, June 11.
She said: "I’m absolutely terrified of heights. But I wanted to do something for the National Autistic Society and when you’re doing something for charity you’ve got to really push yourself."
Mrs Raine, from Knitsley Mill, near Consett, County Durham, is a support worker for autistic adults and her son Aaron Wedgwood, 11, is autistic.
Through three fund-raising evenings, she has already raised £400.
