A BULLDOG parade is taking place to raise awareness of the breed. Owners and enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their pets to Durham Market Place between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday May 29. There will be an education stand where people can get more information and make a donation to the Bulldog Rescue and Rehoming Trust. Owners will walk their dogs around the city and answer questions people may have about them. Organser Donna Colwill, who is from Sunderland and has three bulldogs, said: "People who own bulldogs are very passionate about them but they tend to be more popular down south. "This is to be the first bulldog parade in the North-East."
