POLICE are appealing for help tracing the attacker who smashed a glass in the face of a woman enjoying a night out.
The injured woman was left with a one-inch cut to her forehead and a number of cuts to her face and shoulder after the incident in the Slug and Lettuce pub, in Durham City.
Police believe a late-night argument started when the attacker claimed the injured woman had pushed passed her to reach the bar. The argument became more heated until the point when the suspect lunged forward and struck the woman in the face and head with a glass in her hand, causing it to smash.
The incident happened some time between 11.30am and midnight on February 5, but police have now released photographs of the women they want to trace.
She is described as being of slim build, with straight shoulder-length blonde hair and wearing dark trousers, a light-coloured long top and greyish jacket.
Anyone with information is asked to ring Durham Police on 0345 6060365 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
